Mad's Place is the culmination of 25 years of hopes and dreams. As a young single mother, I longed for a village of like-minded people. I had a vision of opening a small business that was more than just a place to shop- it would be a community. It would be a place to make friends, exchange idea's, and help each other out. I am a huge believer that everything happens at exactly the right time. I've been married 20 years to the best man I have ever known, have four amazing children, and two grandkids. It's finally the right time!
Mad's Place (an acronym for Miranda And David) is a dream come true for me, and I hope it will be for many of you, as well!
I have struggled with the right description for the type of store we are..... I tend to say metaphysical store, mostly because that's my passion. Metaphysics is a term that refers to ideas of reality outside of human sense perception, or the philosophy of being which seeks to answer questions about existence. That being said, it's OK if that isn't your thing. Mad's Place is all about accepting everyone for who they are and loving you exactly where you are in this stage of your life. Labels aren't really important, and boutique or gift store fits just as well.
I have always been known as eclectic- and nothing describes Mad's better. I can't imagine a single person that wouldn't be able to find something they just have to have. While we will carry things you would expect to find in a typical metaphysical store, such as crystals, tarot and oracle cards, incense and smudging supplies, as well as Aura Photography... we also have bath and beauty products, home decor and fragrances, collectibles, Harry Potter products, candy, coffee, tea, candles, and jewelry. We even have your babies and kids covered with toys and crafts, and other fun goodies!
My favorite part is the Misfits Lounge. Cozy sofa's, coffee, tea and good company. Cuddle up with a book, or bring a friend and hang out with us for a while.
My hopes for the near future include book clubs, meetings about various topics, craft classes and theme nights. I am always open to suggestions, and new opportunities. If you have an idea for a group meet up or class, I would love to hear about it and will do my best to make it happen.
Additionally, every quarter we will be working on raising money for a charity or helping someone in need.
My ultimate goal for Mad's Place, is for everyone that walks in the doors to feel loved and accepted for exactly who they are.
I try to buy our products from small businesses whenever possible. I love finding business owners that have a passion for what they are doing and strive to create high quality merchandise.
We want you to be completely happy with your experience. If there is ever a problem with your purchase, please let us know so we can make it right.
